What Are You Looking For?

Originally designed for the parish church at Melbourne, Derbyshire, before going on to Coventry Cathedral in an expanded form, this exhibition of paired artworks based on questions that Jesus asks in the gospels is now being shown again in this outstanding Georgian church. A new question ” For who is greater, the one who sits at table or the one who serves?” has been added to the sequence. The exhibition is open Wednesday – Sunday but please check with the church Facebook page or with me before travelling as opening times vary. St Peter’s Church

Wild Saints

The parish church of St Michael with St MaryMelbourne, Derbyshire 
As part of a year of celebrations to mark the 900th year of this outstanding church twelve artists have made work around stories of saints who have saved, protected or nurtured animals and birds. Work by Stephen Guyon Bird, Michael Cook, Sophie Crockett, Susan Dodd, Stuart Hill, Michelle Holmes, Mary Johnson, Philip McCulloch-Downs, Alan Parker, John Rattigan, Sarah Sharpe and Brian Shields. Media include drawings, paintings, sculpture, ceramics, stitched textiles, collage, and shrines made from found ephemera. Saints depicted include St Kevin, St Giles, St Neot, St Philip Neri, St Melangell and St Cuthbert.The work will be a selection of the full exhibition at The Manger Gallery. Manger Gallery Exhibitions
